Can he get out of that web? Shuriken!

Apart from those covers and a bad pun, I think I'll leave it there for now. Yeah, sorry. My lips are sealed. Maybe if you scoot over to Megara Entertainment's site you'll find out more. Or watch this space for more news later in the month. I see you shiver with anticip...

  1. Oh $390US for the full set... time to start saving then!

BTW could you possible make a web page, or point me to one, that lists ALL the re issued gamebooks that are coming out. Being in NZ and trying to search through Amazon is tricky as, I don;t want to miss any.

    Cheers

    1. Good idea, Scott. I'll put a page on the Spark Furnace site in a week or so.

    2. Thanks Dave, especially tricky when you search for authors name and you get 100 books on psychiatry! Maybe Amazon is trying to tell some me something ;)

  2. Neat!
The preview looks excellent, so I will most certainly be pledging to this.
Hopefully, we can get that 25-years-in-the-making closure to Avenger's adventures we've been waiting for.
    And a prequel too?!?! Awesome.

    1. Closure, Magnus? You mean you don't want book 8, and book 9, and book 10..? :)

    2. Well, yeah.
Are, are you saying what I think you're saying...
      Be still, my beating heart!

  3. Yehaw! And relax.

Phew, I finally got my breath back! Fantastic news, and a very compelling Kickstarter page. The new stash look amazing (although I have to admit I still prefer the simplicity of the original covers). But as long as you don't go all modern on us with excessive branding and tiny cover art, it's all good :-)

Having waited a quarter century or so for a final resolution, I'm anticipating some real excitement in the new book 7. I know you guys will excel yourselves. Carry on!

    1. You probably noticed the deliberate mistake in the cover of book 6, Matt. That one's not ready yet, so Megara used an image that's a clue to next year's big gamebook Kickstarter. And that's no BS ;-)

    2. Hey, look it's erm... the river thing... um... oh rats, what is it called? I could swear it seems so familiar but I just can't remember anything about it...

  4. This is a "hello" from the person running the Kickstarter project. Thanks for the mention, Dave! Thank you also to those who've already posted support here or comments/questions on the preview page itself. We're all really excited to do something for this classic series, and knowing there'll be interest by October only makes it better.

    1. Make sure you post this up on ENWorld, RPG.net etc, let the RPG world know. A lot of us British Empire types got into D&D etc vis FF and its friends WotT, FL, LW and a crap load of other series acronyms.

    2. Glad to help out, Richard. I'll be running a bunch of WOTT related posts in the run up to October 1. Do please drop in and reply to the deluge of comments those are sure to get, as I'll soon be out if my depth as regards Orb knowledge!

(For those who don't know, Richard heads up Megara's US operations and is the Gilbert to Mikael Louys's Sullivan. Or maybe the Kuryakin to his Solo. He's the gentleman in charge of this campaign so you can expect to see him mentioned quite a bit in the weeks ahead.)

    3. You bet, Dave. I'm glad to talk with the friendly folks here. There's also some intense discussion on the preview page for the Kickstarter itself, and folks are welcome to join in: I suspect we'll be modifying the campaign in response to fan feedback.

Also, yes, we'll be sure to post on other websites just as we did for our last project. That will evolve over the new two months.

  5. Book 7? Now I need to see if I can find my old character sheet!!! Any possibility of seeing new content in the existing books? That would make a fun stretch goal. I really enjoyed the ability to transfer your character from game to game and use the various items and bonuses in future books (I particularly recall the fantastic emerald eye you could obtain) - would love to see a bonus like that added to Book 0 and uses for those kind of items in book 7.

    1. You'll have to direct all those questions to Megara, Drake. Fabled Lands LLP controls the publishing rights in WOTT books 1-6 only, and we are licensing the hardcover rights to Megara for a limited edition. Apps and other editions of 1-6 are our concern; everything to do with the prequel and book 7 (and onwards) is up to the authors, Mark Smith and Jamie Thomson, and whatever rights they grant Megara.

  6. Great to see Way Of The Tiger will be back again this fall. The epic deserves a wider audience and Book 7 (and Book 0?) is very welcomed.
