Role-players everywhere may enjoy this story, "The Dungeon Master", by Sam Lipsyte that appeared in The New Yorker earlier in the week.It's not really about the gaming, although in another way it is. (You'll get no spoilers here.) Anyway, it's a fantastic piece of writing that gained an extra frisson for me from the RPG connection.
An enjoyable read. It reminded me a little of Lev Grossman's "The Magicians". While mainly a Harry Potter and Narnia pastiche/parody it also has a number of RPG references.

I had a sudden mental image of what a kids' novel by *Les* Grossman would be like! Frightening but... kinda cool too :)
