From Upanishad to the Ioun Straits

More news about the Orb role-playing game that's in production at Megara Entertainment. Check out Megara's website, where you can pre-order the rulebook (including a limited run of signed copies) and buy maps, T-shirts, Way of the Tiger necklaces, and other Orbalicious goodies. (No, I don't get a commission.)

And if this distinctly Oriental palace (by Megara artist Lise) from the opening adventure gets your heart pumping, you're going to like the news we've got coming up in a few days.

  1. Looks great ! I wonder if they used the "Encyclopedia of Orb".

    1. They'd be mad not to. Although I still find all the Oriental stuff in Orb rather jarring, seeing as the Isle of Tranqul Dreams etc was only added to Mark's original campaign world so that ninja could be transplanted into the WotT books. Nothwithstanding that opening adventure, though, Megara have assured us that this isn't just going to be a martial arts RPG. We're going to get a lot of the "real" Orb too.

  2. The creator of the encyclopaedia of Orb is one of the designers :)
It will be a lot more than martial arts, Orb is being combed for detail including Mark Smith's own notes.

    1. I only wish it was called the Orb RPG instead of the Way of the Tiger RPG, but I recognize that marketing must be the primary consideration.

  3. I echo that - the Duelmaster books were set in Orb I think and were great fun, and Talisman of Death had so much more flavour to it than the vast majority of FF books.

Still, Way of the Tiger is snappier than Orb.....and Dragon Warriors is more inspiring perhaps than Legend.

    1. Well, I'm the guy who would always buy "supermarket washing up liquid" rather than a big brand name, so I guess that's why marketing leaves me a little cold :-)

  4. Nice! I first experienced Orb via Talisman of Death and later through Way of the Tiger. After losing my WotT gamebooks to an unscrupulous brigand, I have just recently re-completed my set through ebay. With my newly acquired gamebooks and with Megara's upcoming releases, I am eager to explore Orb once more :)
