Conjunction of the Five (books)

The Kickstarter for the long-out-of-print fifth Blood Sword book, The Walls of Spyte, is all ready to go. The countdown has begun and, all being well, and if the Five Magi are propitiously aligned in the heavens, it will launch on Thursday, February 14 (Valentine's Day, naturally).

If you want to remind yourself about the first four books, seeing as this last one has been a while coming, here are the behind-the-scenes posts I wrote about those. (Beware spoilers.)

Come back next Friday for more details.

  1. I've said on my own blog, and will repeat here, that I consider The Demon's Claw to be, overall, the best / greatest gamebook in history.

  2. Dave, is there anywhere one can acquire a .pdf of the older edition of Dragon Warriors with the atmospheric descriptions of the Fae and other beings? I'm recommending it to the folks doing the Aylse (fantasy cosm) source book for Torg:Eternity. Not to copy or plagiarize, of course, but so they can soak in the atmosphere and let it influence them to create something other than D&D/Tolkien yet again.

    1. I assume all those things are in the Serpent King Games edition, aren't they? (I don't know for sure because I haven't got copies of all the SKG books.) If not, then PDFs of the original books are surely out there on the internet somewhere. And this brief description by James Wallis may help as an intro:

    2. There's lso a GURPS Legend site that seems to have cut-n-paste descriptions from the original books:

    3. Book 6 here... Pirated, but since the DW books are so hard to get hold of these days I think I'll turn a blind eye ;-)

  3. I didn't know about the blog in 2014 when this was first discussed. I'm hoping for reissue plus rewrite. If you're going to do the £400 for dinner thing, I'll stump it up but make it egg n chips in greasy spoon off M25 rather than pricey Italian!

    1. I've only done the dinner thing for one Kickstarter, and that was a pleasure. No egg & chips, though!

    1. I'm going to watermark each PDF... hoping that it doesn't somehow end up on somebody else's Patreon page!
